Job Summary To develop policies and strategies that would drive maintenance of quality risk asset portfolio through recovery of non- performing loans and credit remedial activities as well contributing to maintain the right credit culture and discipline among stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Continuously implement loan specific effective recovery strategy that would led Team to contribute in the Bank’s earnings and reduce NPL portfolio
  • Ensure implementation of various loan remedial/work-out process improvement and standardization activities
  • Actively contribute in review and development of various enterprise wide risk management framework and processes as part of the Bank’s 5-year rolling strategic re-positioning
  • Implement measures that would reduce the potential and actual overall impact of impaired accounts on the Bank’s balance sheet and profit and loss account.
  • Contribution to Continual improvement of standards of risk management, maximization of recovery and exploitation of profit opportunities for recoveries out of provisions.
  • Sustain effective and sound relationship with Regulatory Authorities, Auditors, Rating Agencies and other stakeholders on credit related issues as may be required
  • Ensure that only effective Debt/Collection Agents/Auctioneers are retained by the Bank on best practices basis and in line with existing Policy of the Bank
  • Ensure that request for debt forgiveness, interest waiver, re-instatement of lapsed concession and extension of the validity period of lapsed concession are in line with existing Policy.
  • Provide expertise support to Business Units/Relationship Managers’ efforts in the recovery of any delinquent account as need arises
  • Monitor engagements of Law engagement agencies like EFCC, SFU and other assigned Agents on recovery action to ensure that any reputational risk that could arise is effectively mitigated

Job Requirements Qualification

  • Minimum of first degree (BSC) in any discipline from a reputable academic institution Experience: Minimum of 15 years’ experience, out of which 5 years would have been at a senior Management level

N.B: Candidates should have key knowledge of Basic Credit Analysis procedures, Knowledge of Prudential Guidelines and other related regulations, Knowledge of Law Enforcement Procedures relating to bad credits, Basic knowledge of contractual implications, Knowledge of legal principles relating to recovery and Law Enforcement Procedures, In-depth business knowledge.
